Unlocking Potential: How the Goodwill Fellowship Empowered a Young Cameroonian Doctor to Make a Community Impact

Graduating from medical school didn't automatically translate into the practice management, community outreach, or leadership skills I needed to run a clinic that actually served my hometown.

Through the fellowship, I was paired with a mentor who had built a rural health initiative from scratch. That relationship — combined with the program's leadership training — gave me the confidence and tools to launch a mobile clinic serving over 3,000 patients in its first year.

The fellowship doesn't just teach a skill — it builds a network of people who show up for each other's projects long after the program ends.
